Entry Formalities in Andaman

If you are an Indian, there is no need of any permit to visit this exotic island. However, if you want to visit the tribal areas, you need to take written permission from the Deputy Commissioner, Andaman District, Port Blair.

However, if you are a foreigner, there is need for a permit to stay in the islands. On you arrival at Port Blair you can get it easily from the Immigration authorities, valid for 30 days. You can also get the permit beforehand from Immigration authorities at airports or Foreigners Registration Offices at Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.
